Thought you might like to share my experience today when attempting to purchase a Petersfield Herald in the main Tesco. I looked for a Petersfield Herald. Couldnt find one but did find a Liphook Herald. Oh well, I thought, more or less the same news I will have this one and made my way to the self service. Put the paper on the scanner and it wouldnt accept it. Up came a lovely assistant and the conversation went like this: Girl: I cant sell you that Me: Why not? Girl: Its not on the system Me: Shall I go over there and pay for it? Girl: You want a Petersfield Herald. Me: Yes, I know but you havent got any. Girl: Ill go and look Girl: We havent got any Petersfield Heralds. Me: Didnt think you had - dont worry Ill have this Liphook one. Girl: Sorry but I cant sell it to you Me: Why not? Girl: Its not on the system Me: So let me get this right. I picked up a paper on display in your shop but I cant purchase it because it is not on your computer thingy. Girl: Yes, sorry about that. I gave up and came out. Still giggling!!
